When you create an account, we collect your email address and authentication credentials (managed via our authentication provider).

3.2 Travel Data

When you use the import features, we process data you choose to import from third-party services such as Google (e.g. saved places, location history, reviews). This data is imported at your explicit request and stored to provide the Service.

3.3 Usage Data

We may collect basic usage analytics (e.g. pages visited, feature usage) to improve the Service. We do not use third-party tracking or advertising tools.

4. How We Use Your Data

We use your data to:

  • Provide, maintain, and improve the Service;
  • Import and organise your travel data as you request;
  • Enable AI-powered querying of your travel knowledge;
  • Communicate with you about the Service (e.g. important updates).

We do not sell your personal data. We do not use your data for advertising.

5. Google API Data

traveltip accesses Google API data (such as Google Maps saved places) only with your explicit consent. Our use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. Specifically:

  • We only use Google data to provide and improve user-facing features of the Service;
  • We do not transfer Google data to third parties except as necessary to provide the Service;
  • We do not use Google data for serving advertisements;
  • We do not allow humans to read your Google data unless you give explicit consent, it is necessary for security purposes, or it is required by law.

6. Data Storage and Security

Your data is stored securely using industry-standard infrastructure (Supabase / cloud hosting). We use encryption in transit (TLS) and implement appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect your data.

7. Data Sharing

We do not share your personal data with third parties except:

  • Service providers: We use trusted infrastructure providers (e.g. hosting, database, authentication) that process data on our behalf under appropriate agreements;
  • Legal requirements: If required by law, regulation, or legal process;

8. Data Retention

We retain your data for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Service. You may delete your account and data at any time. Upon deletion, we will remove your personal data within 30 days, except where retention is required by law.
